Senior/Mid-Level Environmental Planner, Red Bluff, Tehama County, California

Tehama Environmental Solutions, Inc., established in 2003, is a small growing Environmental Consulting firm providing services to both public and private clients.  Our primary areas of expertise include biological and botanical assessment, regulatory permitting, wetland delineation and habitat restoration and mitigation planning, implementation, maintenance and monitoring. 

Tehama Environmental Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Planner to work with our team on a myriad of projects.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

    • Preparing CEQA/NEPA documents and environmental regulatory permit applications
    • Managing projects and project personnel
    • Interacting with clients
    • Environmental compliance construction monitoring
    • Overseeing habitat restoration and maintenance projects

Desired Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree or higher in urban, regional or environmental land use planning, environmental sciences, environmental policy, environmental studies or a related field.
  • Five-plus years of relevant professional experience and/or three-plus years of experience in the environmental consulting industry in California.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Physically able to perform occasional field work under a variety of conditions, including the ability to work in typical northern Central Valley temperatures and inclement weather, and hike and/or drive to remote locations over uneven terrain when needed.  Physically able to occasionally hike sometimes steep terrain, carrying necessary field equipment, to get to project locations.
  • Strong computer skills with programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience and knowledge of NEPA, CEQA, and Federal and California environmental regulatory processes.
  • Team player - ability to work well with others as well as independently.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects with critical timelines.
  • Experience managing Staff-level and Technician-level personnel preferred.
  • Self-motivated, strong initiative.
