TES staff conducted a soil and groundwater hydrology site assessment for a mine reclamation project on Dry Creek near Cottonwood, California.  The site assessment was performed to collect information about annual groundwater fluctuations and soil stratigraphy on a proposed aggregate mining quarry site consisting primarily of dredge tailings.  The results of this assessment will be used to complete a riparian revegetation plan in compliance with the reclamation requirements of the Surface Mining and Reclamation Act  (SMARA) administered by the Shasta County Department of Resource Management and the California Department of Conservation, Office of Mine Reclamation.  TES staff has also been retained to prepare the riparian revegetation plan and complete a reclamation plan application that will meet SMARA requirements.
