TES staff conducted a Delineation of Waters of the U.S. (wetland delineation) for the Coleman Barrier Weir & Fish Ladder Modification Project, located east of Anderson, California. The project is one element of the Battle Creek Restoration Project and involves the modification of the Coleman National Fish Hatchery fish barrier weir and fish ladder in order to facilitate the restoration of anadromous fish populations in Battle Creek, upstream of the hatchery. The project is located on public lands owned by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Bureau of Land Management. The delineation was verified by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which allowed the project applicants to proceed with gaining clearance for the project under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
